Basketball Recap: Plattsburgh Hornets vs. Moriah Vikings
Plattsburgh was the 60-59 winner over Moriah when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Plattsburgh Hornets fell 64-54 to the Moriah Vikings on Wednesday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Moriah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chase McGinness, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 boards. That's the most points McGinness has posted since back in February of 2024. Cooper Allen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Plattsburgh's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Moriah, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plattsburgh will head out to challenge Northern Adirondack at 6:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for Moriah, they will venture away from home to take on Saranac Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moriah knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 contests -- so hopefully Saranac Lake likes a good challenge.
