Volleyball Recap: Mayo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Faribault on Tuesday, Mayo came back down to earth. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owatonna Huskies on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Mayo's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Owatonna, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Mayo will host Albert Lea at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Owatonna has already played their next contest (against Rochester Area HomeSchool), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
