It's playoff time, and Doral Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 87-28 victory over the Palmetto Panthers. The Firebirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Doral Academy's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stephanie Vega, who went 8-for-11 to rack up 17 points along with five assists and four steals. Vega's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Valle, who went 8-for-13 on her way to 16 points and five steals.

Vega wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Doral Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Palmetto lost, don't look at Alessandra Falcon. Despite the final result, she went 7-for-11 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. That was a full 57.1% of Palmetto's points, marking the fourth time in a row Falcon has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Doral Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Palmetto and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Doral Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-30 win against Western on the 18th. Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
