Baseball Recap: Maconaquah Victorious

While Maconaquah didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Marion Giants on Friday. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Giants recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Caiden Richards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Devon Murry was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kobe Bowman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Maconaquah's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Marion, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Maconaquah will welcome Eastern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Marion, they will head out to square off against Elwood at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
