Basketball Recap: Lake Region Takes a Loss

Lake Region was the 60-49 winner over Spruce Mountain when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake Region Lakers fell 53-40 to the Spruce Mountain Phoenix on Saturday. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Region's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Spruce Mountain, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lake Region and Spruce Mountain should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. Lake Region (ranked 34th) will meet Cape Elizabeth (ranked 108th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Spruce Mountain will take on Oak Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 90 places (10 vs. 100).
