Basketball Recap: Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Beats Calvary Chapel Academy for Their Second Straight Victory

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy won the last time they faced Calvary Chapel Academy, and Michael Barna did his part to make sure it happened again. The Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots skirted past the Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles 59-56 thanks in part to Barna, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 19 rebounds. Those 23 points gave him a new career-high.

Caudly Dieudonne was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Welsh, who posted 13 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Welsh is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Caleb Welsh, who earned 21 points and seven boards.

The win made it two in a row for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-10. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-43 loss against St. Edward's on the 28th. Calvary Chapel Academy has also already played their next game (against West Melbourne Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
