Baseball Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

After flying high against McComb last Tuesday, Richland came back down to earth. The Rangers lost 15-1 to the Lawrence County Cougars on Friday. The Rangers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Richland's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lawrence County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland will challenge Vicksburg at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Gators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.12 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lawrence County, they will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
