McAllen Memorial hadn't done well against Pioneer recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The McAllen Memorial Mustangs blew past the Pioneer Diamondbacks 12-2. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

McAllen Memorial got a massive performance out of Eloy Lozano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Lozano has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kane Coy, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Lozano wasn't the only one working in the hit department: McAllen Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for McAllen Memorial: they were averaging 4.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.4.

McAllen Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Pioneer, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

McAllen Memorial will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pioneer: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
