Volleyball Recap: Wheeler Comes Up Short

Wheeler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodstock Wolverines. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Wheeler started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-13, 15-13.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Woodstock, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Wheeler will head out on the road to take on Etowah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Woodstock, they will face off against Kell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
