Softball Recap: Marshall County Takes a Loss

Marshall County suffered their biggest loss since May 13, 2024 on Monday. They lost 16-6 to the Eagleville Eagles. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Anna Stewart and Zakiya Taylor did some serious damage despite the final result: Stewart went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple, while Taylor scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That triple marked the first that Stewart hit this season. Madison Mason was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Marshall County's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Eagleville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall County will host Giles County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eagleville, they will be playing at home against Cascade at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
