Volleyball Game Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs

The Hillcrest Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Rancho Verde Mustangs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Hillcrest can't be too worried about heading out to take on Rancho Verde: they just beat Arlington at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Everything went Hillcrest's way against Arlington on Monday as Hillcrest made off with a 3-0 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Rancho Verde waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Ravens with a sharp 3-0 win.

Rancho Verde walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 25-14.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Rancho Verde, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Hillcrest took their win against Rancho Verde when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillcrest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
