Baseball Recap: North Creek Victorious

North Creek never let their opponents score on Monday. They came out on top against the Bothell Cougars by a score of 4-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Friday.

Alex Yamada tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Beau Tait, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Ben Ojeda was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for North Creek and bumps their season record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Bothell, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. North Creek will challenge rival Redmond at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jaguars 3.8, the Mustangs 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bothell is set to square off against their familiar foe Juanita at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
