Baseball Game Preview: St. Michael Catholic Cardinals vs. Satsuma Gators

For the second straight game, St. Michael Catholic will face off against Satsuma. The Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for St. Michael Catholic's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Satsuma on Thursday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Satsuma's part, not much got past Tucker Hicks, who gave up just three hits to keep St. Michael Catholic off the board. Hicks has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Coleman, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Darius Kapua also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Satsuma is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Michael Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
