Volleyball Recap: Grapevine Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Grapevine unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Argyle Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Grapevine saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Finley Love had 24 assists and ten digs. Love has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

Grapevine's defeat dropped their record down to 19-17. As for Argyle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 23 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Grapevine will challenge rival Denton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Argyle is set to take on their familiar foe Colleyville Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
