ATHENA, Ore. -
Weston-McEwen/Griswold (Athena, Ore.) snapped
Stanfield (Ore.)'s 7-game winning streak, with a 42-21 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run, the Tigers went into halftime with a 21-20 lead. The Tiger Scots took the lead for good with a touchdown run in the third quarter.
Stanfield came in giving up 12.3 points per game this season.
A 46-0 Weston-McEwen/Griswold victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Stanfield, which notched a 33-14 victory over Heppner in its previous outing. With the win WMG extended its winning streak to three games.
Weston-McEwen/Griswold (3-4) goes up against Irrigon in a 2A Blue Mountain game matchup next week, while Stanfield (7-1) locks horns with Grant Union also in a 2A Blue Mountain game.
