Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Commerce). They blew past the Brookeland Wildcats 81-61 on Thursday.

Brookeland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cade Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards, and Landon Smith, who posted 19 points and five boards. Smith's afternoon made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zack Beatty, who had ten points.

Commerce now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Brookeland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Commerce won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Caddo Mills at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Caddo Mills is coming into the match with five straight wins on the road, so Commerce will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Brookeland, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Atlanta at 9:55 a.m. on Friday.
