Basketball Game Preview: South Rowan Raiders vs. Central Cabarrus Vikings

South Rowan hasn't had much luck against Central Cabarrus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The South Rowan Raiders will host the Central Cabarrus Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Rowan is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Northwest Cabarrus, falling 78-30. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while the Trojans are ranked 194th).

Meanwhile, Central Cabarrus lost to East Mecklenburg on the road by a 69-51 margin on Wednesday.

Central Cabarrus now has a losing record at 9-10. As for South Rowan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.

South Rowan took a serious blow against Central Cabarrus in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 66-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Central Cabarrus' Kevonta' Martin, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.
