Hampton waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Johnson County Longhorns to the tune of 68-36. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Longhorns are ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Audrey Shaw, who posted ten points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Dickens, who put up 11 points.

Hampton pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points over those games. As for Johnson County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season.

Hampton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-42 loss against Unaka on the 4th. As for Johnson County, they have also already played their next contest, a 57-44 victory against University School on the 4th.
