It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Rancho Cucamonga ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Los Osos Grizzlies, sneaking past 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Mason Sanchez tossed a big game, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Rancho Cucamonga's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Peyton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Rancho Cucamonga's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Los Osos, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Rancho Cucamonga will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Grizzlies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
