Baseball Game Preview: Madison Golden Knights vs. New Dorp Central Cougars

The Madison Golden Knights will head out on the road to challenge the New Dorp Central Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Madison came up short against John Jay on Monday, falling 10-3. The Golden Knights haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, New Dorp entered their contest against Grand Street Campus on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Central Cougars took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Central Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for New Dorp, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-4.

Madison was able to grind out a solid victory over New Dorp when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Golden Knights repeat their success, or do the Central Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
