Baseball Recap: Hartford Gets the Win

Hartford came out on top against Otter Valley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Hurricanes walked away with a 5-2 win over the Otters. That's two games straight that the Hurricanes have won by exactly three runs.

Wyatt Chambers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. Hartford is 4-1 when Chambers allows one or fewer earned runs, but 0-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Tate Mosenthal was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Carter Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hartford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Otter Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Coincidentally, Hartford and Otter Valley will both be playing Fair Haven the next time they take the field. The Hurricanes will host the Slaters at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Otters will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
