Basketball Game Preview: Wilkinson County Warriors vs. Hancock Central Bulldogs

Wilkinson County and Hancock Central are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Wilkinson County Warriors will host the Hancock Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Wilkinson County is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since February 2nd on Saturday. They blew past Crawford County 69-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Warriors have posted against the Eagles since February 23, 2017.

Meanwhile, Hancock Central suffered their closest loss since February 9th last Saturday. They fell just short of Warren County by a score of 60-57. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Screaming Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Hancock Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josiah Ingram went 10 of 15 on his way to 26 points along with five boards and three steals. The contest was Ingram's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Harper, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

The win got Wilkinson County back to even at 5-5. As for Hancock Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Wilkinson County came up short against Hancock Central in their previous matchup back in February, falling 66-57. Can Wilkinson County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
