Basketball Game Preview: Chipley Tigers vs. Holmes County Blue Devils

The Chipley Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Holmes County Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Chipley will head out to face Holmes County after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Chipley fell 48-40 to Jay.

Chipley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sarayah Hogan, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points and six boards, and Addyson Suggs, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds. Hogan is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Meanwhile, Holmes County came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 61-36 win. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Holmes County pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.6 points. As for Chipley, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-4.

Chipley came up short against Holmes County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 42-37. Can Chipley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
