Preview: Cotulla Cowboys vs. Carrizo Springs Wildcats
Cotulla is 8-2 against Carrizo Springs since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cotulla Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Carrizo Springs Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Cotulla was able to grind out a solid victory over Charlotte, taking the game 43-32. The win was just what Cotulla needed coming off of a 66-25 loss in their prior matchup.
Carrizo Springs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They breezed by Varsity Opponent at home to the tune of 66-18. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-12.
Andrea Rangel was on fire: she scored 25 points along with 3 steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adisyn Reyes, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
The win got Cotulla back to even at 1-1. As for Carrizo Springs, the win also got them back to even at 5-5.
Cotulla was able to grind out a solid victory over Carrizo Springs when the teams last played back in November of 2022, winning 37-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cotulla since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
