Volleyball Recap: Helix Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Helix Highlanders came up short against the Mission Bay Buccaneers and fell 2-0.

Defeat or not, Helix got some senior leadership from Nathan Steele and Nicolas Reese. Steele had 11 digs and five assists, while Reese had five digs and two blocks.

Leading Mission Bay to victory were Zeth Abelman and Henry Gildehaus. Abelman had 17 digs and two assists, while Gildehaus had 15 assists and five digs. Abelman is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Helix's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mission Bay, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Helix wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Del Norte on the 1st. As for Mission Bay, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against University City on the 1st.
