Volleyball Recap: Denia Yarber's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Riverside Prep over Big Bear + How To Watch

Riverside Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Big Bear Bears. If the Silver Knights were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bears when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Riverside Prep sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 19-25, 25-11, 25-27, 15-9.

Several Silver Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Denia Yarber, who had seven digs and two aces.

Riverside Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Big Bear, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Riverside Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Academy of Careers & Exploration on the 9th. Hopefully Big Bear paid attention to the Silver Knights' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Silver Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
