Softball Recap: Hahnville Falls Short Against Ranked East Ascension

Hahnville faced East Ascension in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Brazzi Jacob was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Chaix, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Hahnville and nudges their season record down to 25-9. As for East Ascension, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-12.

While Hahnville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Wednesday.
