Baseball Recap: Flagler Palm Coast Finds Home Field Redemption Against East River

There's no place like home for Flagler Palm Coast, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the East River Falcons 2-1. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 9-2 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Flagler Palm Coast got a great performance from Jordan Gonzalez as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest hits Gonzalez has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Marion Clayton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 12 matches.

Flagler Palm Coast's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for East River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Flagler Palm Coast will challenge Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Matanzas has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.33 runs per game on average), something Flagler Palm Coast will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East River, they will square off against Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Timber Creek has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
