Baseball Recap: Pymatuning Valley Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Pymatuning Valley had won four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 12-2 to make it five. They put the hurt on the Harding Skippers with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Lakers haven't had any issues with the Skippers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Croston, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was CJ Karbacka, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Pymatuning Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harding only posted an OBP of .167.

As for Harding, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Pymatuning Valley, Maplewood, and Pymatuning Valley.

On Harding's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Harless, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pymatuning Valley will venture away from home to square off against Maplewood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lakers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harding, they are taking a road trip to face off against Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Skippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
