Soccer Game Preview: Farmersville vs. Celina

Farmersville hasn't had much luck against Celina recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Farmersville Farmers will take on the Celina Bobcats at 4:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Farmersville came up short against Aubrey and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Chaparrals are ranked 121st).

Meanwhile, Celina entered their tilt with Bonham on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Warriors onto the board and left with a 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Celina's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those nine contests. As for Farmersville, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Farmersville suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Celina in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Farmersville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
