Tomball Memorial's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 31-26 victory over the Magnolia West Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Magnolia West lost, don't look at Chase Corwin. Despite the final result, he threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. Those passing touchdowns were Corwin's first of the season.

Tomball Memorial's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Magnolia West, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Tomball Memorial will venture away from home to challenge Klein at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will be up against the Bearkats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.63 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Magnolia West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
