Baseball Recap: Concord Christian's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Concord Christian lost against Mascenic Regional back in June of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Kingsmen fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-1. The match marked the Kingsmen's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

TJ Charbono spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Concord Christian fell to 6-1. As for Mascenic Regional, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Concord Christian will face off against Portsmouth Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Kingsmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Mascenic Regional, they will square off against Conant at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
