Basketball Recap: Hale Comes Up Short

If Hale was feeling good fresh off their 62-42 takedown of Milan last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Cardinals and the Meadville Eagles didn't end well, with the Cardinals falling 57-40. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 61-48 loss on February 5th.

Meadville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quentyn Smith out in front who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Dennis, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

Hale has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Meadville, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 23-5.

Hale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Meadville, they will take on Brunswick at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
