Softball Recap: Bristol Central Takes a Loss

Bristol Central had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 15-5 to make it four. They fell just short of the Bristol Eastern Lancers by a score of 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Bristol Eastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

For Bristol Eastern's part, Bella Arborio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Arborio has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maria Albert was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ally Mckenna also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

As of now, neither Bristol Central nor Bristol Eastern have any future games scheduled.
