Meanwhile, Lakeville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Lakeville's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Millington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Millington might still be hurting after the 16-9 loss they got from Lakeville in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
