Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Bear River

It's playoff time, and Bear River had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Desert Hills Thunder by a score of 6-3 on Thursday. Six seems to be a good number for the Bears as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kate Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Bostyn Lish was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Fry, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bear River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Bear River's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 32-2. As for Desert Hills, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 31-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Thunder beat Bear River by a score of 3-1 on Friday.
