Basketball Recap: Scottsbluff Find Success

If Gering wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Scottsbluff, they should've done a better job of containing Nate Kelley. The Scottsbluff Bearcats simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Gering Bulldogs 74-38 thanks in part to Kelley, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Tre Boswell, who posted ten points along with eight boards and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Scottsbluff's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Gering, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Scottsbluff will challenge Liberty Tree Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Scottsbluff is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.7 points per game this season. As for Gering, they will face off against Chadron at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
