Softball Recap: Sand Rock Takes a Loss

Sand Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Geraldine Bulldogs. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sand Rock's loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Geraldine, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Sand Rock didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 defeat against Collinsville on the 18th. As for Geraldine, they have also already played their next game, a 9-6 loss against Pisgah on the 18th.
