Softball Recap: Williamson Warriors vs. Line Mountain Eagles
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Williamson had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Line Mountain Eagles and snuck past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but Williamson sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kenna Thomas was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Thomas has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Thomas was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaegen Short, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Mikenna Buchannan, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Williamson pushed their record up to 11-10 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Line Mountain, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Williamson will head out on the road to take on Muncy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Muncy will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Williamson surely won't give up without a fight. Line Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
