After a string of three wins, Brush's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 14-11 to the Berthoud Spartans. Even though they lost, the Beetdiggers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Landon Mesch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was River Hodgeson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Brush's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Berthoud, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brush will face off against Eaton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Beetdiggers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Reds have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Berthoud, they will head out to take on Timnath at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
