Baseball Game Preview: Hardin-Jefferson Hawks vs. Livingston Lions

For the second straight game, Hardin-Jefferson will face off against Livingston. The Hawks will face off against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hardin-Jefferson has six straight victories, Livingston has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Hardin-Jefferson earned a 6-1 win over Livingston.

Brody Fontenot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hardin-Jefferson got a big performance out of Gunner Sattler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Sattler has become a key player for the Hawks: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-12-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cade McIntosh, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Livingston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16-2. As for Hardin-Jefferson, the victory got them back to even at 12-12-1.
