Basketball Recap: Wayne Valley Comes Up Short

Wayne Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 43-27 bruising from the West Milford Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Highlanders are ranked 74th).

Leading West Milford to victory were Laurel Space and Adison Arciniega. Space went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points and seven boards, while Arciniega went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda O'Brien, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Wayne Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Milford, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne Valley will square off against Wayne Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Milford, they will face off against Fort Lee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
