Baseball Game Preview: Clewiston Tigers vs. Cypress Lake Panthers

The Clewiston Tigers will take on the Cypress Lake Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Clewiston nor Cypress Lake posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Clewiston is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Avon Park just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils.

Clewiston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graysen Redish, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Cypress Lake's offense. They fell just short of Gateway by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Cypress Lake has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Clewiston, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Clewiston's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cypress Lake, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Clewiston continue to outrun the ball?

Clewiston was able to grind out a solid victory over Cypress Lake when the teams last played back in March, winning 4-1. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
