Baseball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

Somerville suffered their closest defeat since May 21, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Rutgers Prep Argonauts by a score of 6-4. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Argonauts earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Somerville's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Rutgers Prep, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Coming up, Somerville will head out to square off against Immaculata at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Rutgers Prep, they will be playing at home against West Windsor-Plainsboro North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
