Baseball Recap: Patterson Tigers vs. Vacaville Bulldogs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Patterson had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Vacaville Bulldogs by a score of 5-2.

Max Medina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Noah Cozart was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Caden Lozano was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

On Vacaville's side, they got a good showing from Nik Rostak, who struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk).

Even though they lost, Vacaville didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 12 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Patterson only tossed three.

Patterson has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. As for Vacaville, their loss dropped their record down to 20-8.

Patterson will head out on the road to challenge Elk Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patterson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Elk Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Vacaville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
