Baseball Recap: Jarrell Takes a Loss

Jarrell pushed their score to 11 the last time they played Thrall, but on Saturday they couldn't quite do it again. The Jarrell Cougars fell just short of the Thrall Tigers by a score of 1-0. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Jarrell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Tibbetts, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Jarrell and nudges their season record down to 1-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Thrall, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lockhart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Thrall, they will face off against Luling at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thrall's pitching crew has only allowed 0.9 runs per game this season, so Luling's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
