Basketball Recap: Hitchcock Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Hitchcock waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Diboll Lumberjacks with a 60-55 win. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hitchcock has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Diboll, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-3.

Hitchcock will be playing in front of their home fans against Center at 3:20 p.m. on Friday. Hitchcock has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Diboll, they will take on Texas Truth HomeSchool in a tournament on Friday.
