It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cardinal Newman Cardinals had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with a 59-51 win over the Titans. The win was just what Cardinal Newman needed coming off of a 59-37 loss in their prior game.

Leading Cardinal Newman to victory were Amarii King and Elton Smith jr.. King scored 16 points, while Smith jr. dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Smith jr. is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Desmond Harrington, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five blocks.

Cardinal Newman has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 19-15 record this season. As for Trinity Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

Cardinal Newman will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Hammond on February 21st. Hopefully Cardinal Newman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Monday. Trinity Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
