Basketball Recap: Linden's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Linden took on Roselle Catholic on Tuesday. The Linden Tigers took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roselle Catholic Lions. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Lions are ranked second).

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Holman, who went 8 of 10 en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Asante Jones, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points and seven boards.

Linden moved to 8-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Roselle Catholic, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Linden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-51 victory against Union on the 16th. As for Roselle Catholic, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Woodmere Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 25th.
