Recap: Dieterich Movin Maroons vs. St. Anthony Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Dieterich Movin Maroons unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Anthony. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dieterich in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost nine in a row.
Several Movin Maroons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Gephart, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Landen Keck was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Dieterich's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for St. Anthony, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
Dieterich is on the road again on Monday and plays the at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Movin Maroons are ranked 221st). As for St. Anthony, they will be playing at home against the Wooden Shoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
